Burn the Strega -
Intersective Narratives

"Burn the Strega" is a meta-zoom performance on the theme of worldwide storytelling, analyzing the role of feminine roles in fables. Starting as a Zoom meeting where the actors tell different narratives from various parts of the world, the play evolves into an exploration of the role of "witches" in different cultures.

Through an intersectional and feminist perspective, the actors play with Zoom as they attempt to dismantle systems of oppression through a re-writing of traditional narratives.
Intersective Narratives
Can the perfect story arise from an imperfect society?

We devised four folk tales from four very different cultures: Hansel and Gretel, Holi, Shamaran and Baba Yaga, all with a twist and subversion.
Watch this episode of Baba Yaga, a slavic folklore featuring a witch Baba Yaga, seen today as a symbol of women empowerment and independence.
